Pepsi Are You Listening?

Here I sit sipping an ice cold Coca-Cola and I’m fuming mad. Anyone who knows me will tell you that I practically live on Pepsi, and not that diet stuff, for those brave souls into chemical abuse. No, I exist on a diet high in high-fructose corn syrup…but at least I was loyal.

"This van was parked outside of the Women...

It's a Child Stupid.

Every time I have to open a Coca-Cola, an RC Cola or some other non-Pepsi cola product, I get angry all over again.

The way I see it, the only people who are for abortion are alive. I wouldn’t be here now if abortion had been legal in 1960. My grandfather wanted my mother to abort me. The unborn deserve a voice and I’ve stood strong against abortion for most of my life — even going so far as to chain myself by the neck to a building and spend a week in jail. I don’t regret one moment of it.

Your business practices make me physically sick to my stomach. This is worse than cannibalism — you should be prosecuted for crimes against humanity — if we had any real legal system in this country. Even your shareholders agree…

Pepsi Getting Heat for Use of Aborted Fetal Cells in Flavor Research

Shareholders of PepsiCo have filed a resolution with the Securities and Exchange Commission in an effort to force the company to stop contracting with a research firm that uses cells from aborted babies in its process of producing artificial flavor enhancers. According to LifeNews.com, Pepsi has “ignored concerns and criticism from dozens of pro-life groups and tens of thousands of pro-life people who voiced their opposition to PepsiCo contracting with biotech company Senomyx even after it was found to be testing their food additives using fetal cells from abortions.”

On its website Senomyx explains that its flavor research programs “focus on the discovery and development of savory, sweet and salt flavor ingredients that are intended to allow for the reduction of MSG, sugar and salt in food and beverage products. Using isolated human taste receptors, we created proprietary taste receptor-based assay systems that provide a biochemical or electronic readout when a flavor ingredient interacts with the receptor.”

But Debi Vinnedge of Children of God for Life, a pro-life group that has focused its attention on Pepsi’s relationship with Senomyx, pointed out that what the company does not reveal is that it is “using HEK293 – human embryonic kidney cells taken from an electively aborted baby to produce those receptors. They could have easily chosen animal, insect, or other morally obtained human cells expressing the G protein for taste receptors.”

Stop this horrendous practice immediately.

As a little added incentive you should know that I personally spend over $200 a month, just on Pepsi soda for my own consumption…that figure does not include all the other PepsiCo products, which I will no longer be buying. Think about it. Pepsi had a very solid, loyal customer base. Can Pepsi afford to ignore us all? Not and stay in business.

Think About IT.

Are you voting for your priorities?

Let’s face it folks, Obama is going to lose this next election. He’s going to lose to whoever wins the Republican nomination. That’s a given. You’d really have to have your head buried pretty deep to not have accepted this by now.

Easy Cheese, with a Birth Certificate!

Frankly, he would lose to a can of Easy Cheese, assuming that it were able to provide documentation to meet the age requirement. I hear you can accomplish that for under $20 online.

So, assuming you’re intelligent enough to accept that Obama is going to lose, your decision is now which Republican from those that are seeking nomination will actually represent you for the next four years.

  • If you’re a progressive, you’re pretty much out of luck.
  • If you’re a RINO, you’ve got quite a few options which, I’m sure, the Mainstream Media  will do their absolute best to pick the best one for you. With so many to choose from, it could take months.
  • If you’re a conservative, there’s only one choice.
  • If you’re a liberal, there’s only one choice. Coincidentally, it’s the same one.

Who? The invisible man, of course!

The Mainstream Media would have you believe that Ron Paul doesn’t exist. That he hasn’t won every straw poll (from Values Voters Summit  to Iowa to Florida). The thing is, he does. Not only does he have a strong following, the highest voting  consistency of any politician in the last hundred years and experience in both his own business and congress, he’s the only potential nominee that could actually gain true bipartisan support – and actually make both sides happy.

Why? Ron Paul supports states rights. He believes government has no business legislating morality, nor imposing upon the rights of human beings. While he is Pro-Life, his position is that government should not be imposing this decision on the states.

Further, Ron Paul is a Christian, but his belief in the separation of church and state is an indivisible principle. Marriage is a religious ceremony, and thus it’s  dependent on the religion to determine what is a compatible relationship. If you take government out of that equation (as it should be), there’s nothing preventing a civil union between members of the same-sex.

Unlike Obama, who has started several wars since receiving his Nobel Peace Prize, Ron Paul would actually  get America  out of the nation building business.  And since there aren’t formal declaration’s of  war for any of them, we’d have most of our men home  within 30 days.  We wouldn’t be invading other nations, either. That’s not to say Dr. Paul is against war. As a former Flight Surgeon in the Air Force, Ron Paul  has served this man’s military and  has  seen first-hand the harm it causes.  Should the USA really police the world? Of course not.

Unlike both Bush and Obama, who increased the invasions into the privacy of ordinary citizens, Ron Paul has consistently voted against any legislation  that violates the premises of our Constitution and Bill of Rights. Ron Paul voted against the US PATRIOT Act (that’s a misnomer if ever there was one), and said “Everything we have done in response to the 9-11 attacks, from the Patriot Act to the war in Iraq, has reduced freedom in America.”

Unlike all the other hopefuls,  Bush and Obama –  Ron Paul  acknowledges the issues of the War on Drugs. A war against a large number of the population simply can not be “won”, and should not be waged.

Ron Paul has also made clear his plans to abolish the Fed, the  Department of Education, the Food and Drug Administration and bring our troops home.

Ron Paul opposes the subsidization of businesses here and abroad, and the government sponsored crony capitalism that it encourages. Cronyism, for example, is why two and a half cents worth of medication can be sold for a profit of 500,000% here in the USA.

Ron Paul supports homeschooling, a balanced budget and developing energy sources here at home, and true fiscal sanity that will encourage business growth and jobs in every community in America, possibly even saving some of those businesses left in the wake of a visit by Obama!

Assuming you haven’t completely thrown in the towel, and you’re not stupid enough to actually want a President Perry, you need to vote for Ron Paul in the Republican Primaries. For that to happen, you have to be registered Republican. Depending on the state you’re in, you need to change parties up to three months in advance.

Change now. Vote Paul. Save America.

St. Patrick’s Day Celebration

Celebrate St. Patrick's DayFamily Heritage

My maiden name is Patrick and I’m hard pressed to let a single St. Patrick’s Day go by without making a big deal of it, it is still to this day one of my favorite holidays.

For many years I claimed Irish as my own heritage. Surely, with a last name like Patrick I must be Irish. You can imagine my dismay when I discovered that I’m actually Scottish. I’ve traced our families heritage back to the Lamont clan in the 1400’s, in Edinburgh, Scotland.

As a child I was convinced that somewhere along the line we were related to royalty. As luck would have it, I haven’t found a royal bone in my body, turns out instead of being heir to a throne, I’ve decended from horse thieves and criminals.

My husband on the other hand is the great-great-great-great-great grandson of Lyman Hall a previous Governor of Georgia and signer of the Declaration of Independence, not to mention being related to William Shakespeare.

Celebrations

Fortunately, you don’t have to be Irish to enjoy the festivities on St. Paddy’s Day. Just don your green beanie or your “Kiss Me if your Irish” button and make your way to one of the many St. Patrick’s Day celebrations. Who knows maybe the Luck O’ The Irish will rub off on you or you’ll find that pot o’ gold at the end of the rainbow.

St. Paddy’s Day is celebrated the world over, with parades and events taking place in Irish communities in cities around the world. Though many communities have jumped the gun and held their festivities a little early, perhaps to prolong the holiday, we’ve managed to locate 2009 St. Patrick’s Day Parades all over the U.S. and even a few across the globe.

St. Patrick’s Day Parades & Events

The first formal celebration of St. Patrick’s Day took place not in Ireland, but in Boston in 1737. It consisted of a dinner attended by wealthy Protestant gentlemen and merchants who had recently come over from Ulster to settle in the colonies. By 1775, the Boston celebration included a march with 70 soldiers from the British Army who were at the time occupying Boston (an interesting note is that exactly 1 year later, in 1776, the British Army was marching again – but in double time – as they were retreating from the city. So in Boston, March 17 holds two causes to celebrate – St Patrick’s Day and Evacuation day.)

The very first St. Patrick’s Day Parade  in the United States was held in New York City in 1766 by a band of homesick Irish ex-patriots. This was during a time when the “Wearin’ O’ The Green” was still a sign of Irish pride that was banned in Ireland.

A parade celebrating the freedom to speak the Irish language, sing Irish songs and play the bagpipes to Irish tunes was very meaningful to the immigrants who had fled their homes at such great cost leaving so much behind. Today modern celebrations in Ireland tend to avoid the green which has come to symbolize the flag that flew during the years that Ireland suffered under British rule!

American’s have a lot in common with the Irish people, which might be perhaps one of the many reasons so many in this country celebrate this joyous holiday.
