Environment, Parties & People

I used to be a very conservative Republican, until I woke up and realized all the games being played by the politicians, the corporations and those with power and money.  I still can’t believe the way the Republicans behaved during the last election. [Read: Republican National Convention Rules Changes and Dirty Tricks]

The general gist of the idea as it was portrayed by the people who were behind the proposed rules changes was to prevent a hostile takeover of the Republican Party and the National Convention by members of the Ron Paul contingent, the Ron Paul Revolution and the Campaign for Liberty. And without Mr. Blackwell present who is by no means a Ron Paul supporter and the members of the Virginia delegation present, the resistance to the proposed rules changes just faded away.

So what are the rules that were at issue and how were they changed? The two rules that were at stake were Rule #12 and Rule #15. Generally the changes in the rules shift power from the State and County Republican Parties to the National Party and the RNC, and to the Party’s Presidential nominee. That would be Mitt Romney. The changes in the rules are already being referred to as “The Romney Rules.” They effectively disenfranchise conservative activists of all kinds all across America. They disenfranchise TEA Party Activists, and not just Ron Paul supporters! Both the TEA Party Movement and the Ron Paul supporters sprung up as a result of the intransigence of the old school, old paradigm politicians, but instead of listening to the growing cries from the grassroots, the Establishment essentially muted the volume and turned them flat down!

Needless to say, I’m never voting for them again!  It’s just not going to happen. Period.

But I’m curious.  That wasn’t fair, honest and upright.  Where is the law?  You read about all these crimes being committed by government officials but they are not being prosecuted.  Why not?  Are the police so busy busting drug “offenders” that they can’t find the time to bust the ones who are really hurting people?

So, I switched to the Libertarian Party.  I agree with them on most stances, except I am not for gay rights.  The gay rights movement has harmed more people than it’s helped.  As more and more of our children get caught up in the lies, being taught to them beginning as early as Kindergarten about their bodies.  It’s just not normal to educate children on this topic so young and by presenting it as natural or normal we may as well be encouraging it.  Tipping the scales.

Any parent knows that children are easily manipulated.

I’m so fed up because I don’t fit in anywhere.  I hate what Obama has done to our country.  I hate that he’s not being held accountable and his supporters are not being held accountable.  The only thing that gives me hope is the American People. I know have seen them rise to the occasion and turn things around.  And with God all things are possible.  I have not lost faith in this country or it’s people.

The Man Who Lives Without Money

by  Amanda Froelich

Think you couldn’t live without money? Irishman Mark Boyle challenged this notion and here’s how he finds life with no financial income, bank balance, and no spending.

“If someone told me seven years ago, in my final year of a business and economics degree, that I’d now be living without money, I’d have probably choked on my microwaved ready meal.” According to Boyle, the plan back then was to ‘get a good job’, make as much money as possible, and buy the stuff that would show society he was successful.

I think the Democrats have great ideas when it comes to the environment and the foods we eat.  They’ve introduced bills to label GMO’s.  Wonder why no one is talking about banning GMO’s?   This big huge fight over a label?  Get real.  They simply don’t care.  They aren’t serious about protecting us, the people.  The Green Party is just the opposite, they care only about the environment.

We have to live here.  People matter!

We need to do what’s best for wildlife, people and the environment.  Obviously, poisoning our land, the place we live, is not a good idea.  The ocean has been irradiated, ocean life are dead or dying.  What is being done?  Our government isn’t even talking about it.  Nothing.

We must be the change we want to see in the world.  It’s a process but we have to start somewhere.  Look around you.  What can you do?

The NSA’s Own ‘6 Degrees of Kevin Bacon’

If the NSA is  harvesting data 2-3 points from everyone (and yes, they are), they have a map way more intricate that anything we could ever collect on our own. They know everything about everyone who has ever talked to anyone who has ever talked to anyone you have ever talked to. Think about that.

English: Kevin Bacon.

English: Kevin Bacon. (Photo credit: Wikipedia)

In perspective, 6 Degrees of Kevin Bacon  only requires “a link” at  some point in two people’s lives, nothing more substantial than a name in the credits. Yet, the NSA is collecting data 3 people away from everyone for every communication or other ‘link’. Everyone.

Oh, I’m sure that  many  will interpret the phrase  “terrorist suspects” to mean only the  million or so people  on the public  terrorist watchlist, but that doesn’t actually include the other “suspects” such as those who support the Constitution – you know, like every law enforcement officer, military member and duly elected representative in America is sworn to do.

Do you bank at BofA, where Dzhokhar Tsarnaev of the recent Boston Bombings  also banks? That’s a “link.”

Do you use Facebook, where there are literally dozens of Al Qaeda affiliated groups? That’s a “link.”

Have you visited Twitter or Youtube, where the digital terror group (if you accept the FBI’s terminology)  ‘Anonymous’ shares information about their activities? That’s a “link,” too.

Or, admittedly my favorite example, did you vote for President Barack Obama, who has provided weapons to militant terrorists abroad  and personally signed off on the sale of guns used in well over 200 Mexican murders? That’s a “link.”

Oh, did you think you had to have actual contact with these people in order for it to count? Bah. Clearly you’re not familiar with how the law is abused in America today. Each time someone tells me I’m blowing things out of proportion with my pessimistic view of government, I send them the following links:

I read an article yesterday from the NY Daily News that tried so very hard to dispel the theory that the NSA is the American Stasi. His reasoning is perfectly sound, as long as you are willing to bury your head in the ground and believe every lie told to you.

The Stasi only wishes they had the ability to track and record every single movement and communication, along with legal authority to ‘disappear you‘ without judicial oversight. Where the Stasi  failed, our government has not only succeeded, but excelled. Why stop with targeting of those who are actually intending to do ill – heck, even after multiple warnings the Boston Marathon will never be the same. Meanwhile, Shia LeBeouf tells it like it was…OVER FIVE YEARS AGO:

Surely they don’t think the ever-goofy Shia is a terrorist? Must be the hair, right? Are you fed up yet?

Marijuana for kids?

A heart broken mother, speaking about medical marijuana…

“I didn’t try to give it to her again,” Maxim recalls. “The only thing that I look back and say I wish I’d done something different is I wish I started medical marijuana sooner, I wish I continued it, I wish I wasn’t so scared.” [Read Hailey’s story  by Valerie Vande Panne]

What right does anyone have to tell us what we can and cannot put into our bodies? I can’t even imagine how this mother feels, watching her child die. How can you look into that little face and not be moved?

WHEN SHANNON MAXIM was struggling to help her daughter through leukemia, medical marijuana was still illegal in Massachusetts. On November 6, 2012, 63 percent of Massachusetts voters approved the use of marijuana to treat conditions in circumstances where a doctor thinks the benefits outweigh the risk. Eighteen states and the District of Columbia  recognize medical marijuana, according to the National Conference of State Legislatures, and all but two of those jurisdictions permit its use in children. The federal government still considers marijuana a banned drug and has targeted medical marijuana clinics and dispensaries, primarily in Western states, for prosecution.

“I’ve been studying marijuana since 1967,” says Grinspoon. “I started to study it because I was so concerned about all of these young people who used marijuana, that they were harming themselves. I believed all the things everybody was told about it. My best friend at that time was Carl Sagan, and I would tell him not to smoke it, and he would say, ‘Oh, Lester, it’s harmless.’ ”

Grinspoon changed his mind after his own teenage son used marijuana when he was undergoing treatment for lymphocyte leukemia in 1971; the boy, Danny, died of the cancer in 1973. Danny found that medical marijuana eased his suffering from chemotherapy. That inspired Grinspoon to learn more. “I went to the Harvard library and started reading,” he says. “It fascinates me: one, the properties of the drug itself, and two, that I and so many others had been so misled about it.”

Trying to  contact your legislator is a nightmare.  You get that same party line: it’s a gateway drug, it kills brain cells. You know the routine.  It’s all been proven false, but hey, these are politicians who can’t just let the facts get in the way.

Heck, I’ve even contacted California congressman Tom McClintock  and received the very same spiel from him. I tried educating him on the subject.  I tried to impress upon him how important it was that he pass legislation to end the drug war.

Hopefully, you know that the state of California can, if it wants, nullify the Federal law.  Why it hasn’t, I don’t know.    Nullification is the last great hope of liberty in America, and all the states have the power to nullify any federal law they don’t like…well almost any law. The point is, California should have protected all the dispensaries, and they just sat there and did nothing. Only a small handful of districts have done anything to preserve the voter-approved Prop 215.

Some doctors argue that there may be “special dangers” for young people using medical marijuana.

Like what? The alternative is that they will die. That’s happening all too needlessly anyways! None of us are going to live forever, but for a child to die needlessly — shame on us.

Please share this. This child was killed by the medical community. They murdered her as sure as I’m sitting here typing this. Someone should be held accountable… but who? The courts, the judges, the police, the legislature?

It’s got to stop. People have a right to be healthy. Medical marijuana for anyone in need is the right thing to do.

Marijuana for kids?  Hell, yes!
