New Gender Taunted

I was checking out a news article from the Illinois News Tribune to post on the Kidjacked news section, when my eyes were drawn to a rainbow on the page. I never read advertisements and when I am forced to, I remember the company and purpose in my heart, never to support that business.

When I need to find something I go shopping and look for ads and sales. I like them to be readily available but not in your face. Getting back to my topic du jour…

I really had to take a double take. I am really beginning to  think that homosexuality really is a mental disease as was first supposed by mental health boards and most doctors at the time.

The banner reads…New Race?

YOU ARE NOT A LIFESTYLE!

Forbidden knowledge since the dark ages!

Homosexuals are a race!

Homosexuality is a gender!

Would you like to know more?

Get a clue. People change sexual partners like they change their underwear these days. I’ve known many men and  women who switch back and forth between genders with regularity.  They are experimenting and that’s what children do.

I don’t care what you do in your bedroom, but I can still classify and sort the inhabitants of this earth as boy or girl — male or female. I hate to break it to you but you only get two choices. I find this poster inflammatory and very disturbing.

I can’t tell you just how appalled I was last week when my grandson, called his older brother a faggot and asked him if he liked boys or girls. This is not a choice like selecting a pair of underwear. We have taught our son morals, with a Biblical world view. Instilling these notions in young children is inviting them to experiment and into a world of confusion.

I am terrified to ask what, “Forbidden knowledge since the dark ages!” means. I don’t even want to know.

Parents need to get on their knees daily and pray for their children. If you are a Christian and have left your children in the public school system — shame on you. Your children are being lied to and deceived on a daily basis. Please prayerfully consider an alternative.

The homosexual lobby has declared a cultural war on society at large. I worry about the children of tomorrow and wonder if they will have the strength to endure the road that lies before them. Pray for the children. Pray for their teachers. Ask God for guidance and understanding to get you through the days and years ahead.

The dark side of the Internet

The War on Illegal Pornography will host its first online conference via its Facebook page, Dec. 9, 11 a.m. until noon, featuring experts who will discuss the pornography pandemic and its relationship to sex trafficking, effect on marriages, and the need to prosecute obscene hardcore adult pornography.

The lineup includes:

  • Dr. Donna M. Hughes, professor of Women’s Studies at the University of Rhode Island. Professor Hughes is a leading international researcher on trafficking of women and children.   She will discuss how pornography leads to sex trafficking.
  • Dr. Patrick Fagan, Senior Fellow and Director of the Marriage and Religion Research Institute at the Family Research Council in Washington, D.C.  Dr. Fagan will discuss The Effects of Pornography on Individuals, Marriage, Family and Community.
  • J. Robert Flores, former Administrator of the Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention at the U.S. Department of Justice in Washington, D.C. and former deputy chief prosecutor in the Child Exploitation and Obscenity Section of the Criminal Division at the U.S. Department of Justice.  Mr. Flores will discuss the need to prosecute obscene hardcore adult pornography.

“The trafficking in women and children for sexual exploitation is a global human rights crisis being perpetrated by individual criminals and organized crime groups, and facilitated by increased tolerance for the sexual exploitation and sexual abuse of women and children,” said Hughes. ” New communications and information technologies have are now used to facilitate the trafficking of women and children for sexual exploitation.”

She elaborates further on this issue in her paper:
The Impact of the Use of New Communications and Information Technologies on Trafficking in Human Beings for Sexual Exploitation: A Study of the Users.

“Married men who are involved in pornography feel less satisfied with their marital sexual relations and less emotionally attached to their wives,” says Fagan. “Pornography’s power to undermine individual and social functioning is powerful and deep.”

Questions may be submitted online to the panelists during this one-hour presentation.   The event will be broadcast live from the  Pornography Harms Facebook page.

Calls for Longer School Year Faces Budget Reality

<snip>

“Ultimately the states, not the federal government, should have the final word on this and other public school decisions,” said Lucy Nashed, a spokeswoman for Gov. Rick Perry.

In Kansas, sporadic efforts by local districts to extend the school year at even a few schools have been met by parental resistance, said state education commissioner Diane DeBacker.

“The community was just not ready for kids to be in school all summer long,” DeBacker said. “Kids wanted to go swimming. Their families wanted to go on vacation.”

In some states, the school year already starts well before Labor Day and in others nearly stretches to the Fourth of July.

Parents are similarly divided

Parent Irene Facciolo in Monpelier, Vt., said kids need the summer break and learn while they’re away from school.

“I really feel like they need the time to regenerate,” she said.

But Laura Spencer of Orlando, Fla., says she would rather have her 10-year-old daughter learning than hanging out.

“Summer is a lost opportunity,” said Spencer, who believes having kids out of school for three to four months makes an already flawed education system worse.

These people are all over the map and why shouldn’t they be? Some parents choose to homeschool their children, other parents select a private school for their child, we have options.  What it boils down to is public school is just that – public, paid for by public funds. Like it or not, those public funds come with strings.

The public schools aren’t going to produce a highly educated student body, unless the taxpayers are willing to foot the bill and the public school system changes the way it operates.

Our children are not little clones, filling the classrooms with open minds, ready to be filled. Many teachers wish that they were. A child is an individual and what one child can accomplish, another can never achieve. Why do public school administrators pretend that every child has the same capabilities, if given the same teaching? We are throwing good money after bad.

Seat time does not equal learning time. Just because a student is in school, doesn’t mean his mind is present. I spent many many hours sitting in a classroom, while my mind was off somewhere else. I couldn’t tell you a thing that happened those days in school — and there were many of them.

Speaking as a parent, I can tell you that no one knows a child like a parent and school officials are missing out on a terrific resource by excluding them to the extent they do in most public schools. Students deserve to have an educational plan that they themselves help to create and it should be reviewed regularly. It should grow with the child. Each child should attempt to define their goals and what they hope to get out of their schooling.

Why can’t schools offer early year and late year classes for some students or have a staggered start schedule, so that some teachers come in later, and others start early. If the public school really isn’t a training ground for prison, why does it have to be so rigid? Prisons are intended to restrict the movement of choices of the inhabitants. Do we want inflexible schools that have no regard for the individuals wants and needs?

Our home is a training ground, a place for my son to learn how to make good choices. Our job as parents is to prepare him to go out and make his mark on the world. Isn’t that what getting an education is all about? Why can’t schools provide a place where students have more control over their time and efforts?

William Butler Yeats said: “Education is not filling a bucket, but lighting a fire.”

It’s time to light the fire.
