Market is playing catch up!

We had a bunch of errands to run in Merced and decided to stop off at Costco. They were having a sale on Nutiva Coconut Oil – 74 oz. for $14.99 – organic.  For that price  I can’t help but wonder if there isn’t something wrong with it. I’ve got five in the pantry and I’ve been using one for what seems like forever.  I can’t find a thing wrong with it.

Extra Virgin Coconut Oil

Extra Virgin Coconut Oil (There is no such thing as extra virgin…)

I have to say I was pretty dismayed at the amount of organic food available.  I was looking for organic staples: flour, sugar, corn meal, rice and beans. What I found was crackers, soups, cookies and other assorted items of prepackaged food that I don’t trust anymore.  I’m tired of buying stuff with things I can’t pronounce and ingredients I have no idea what they are.  If I can’t make it in my kitchen, our family is not going to eat it.

I was happy to see they had packages of grass-fed ground beef that were very reasonably priced. Sadly, they didn’t have any other types of organic beef or any other organic meats.  The Modesto location seems to have a better selection, but I haven’t been there for awhile, so it’s hard to say.

There are deals to be had in the organic market.  Look for deals on beef during the month of October.  When you find them though, stock up because once the supply is gone, the price shoots back up, and it’ll stay up until Spring.  Consider canning the beef, chicken, pork, etc… instead of freezing it.  The meat will last longer and will be tastier, and most of the cooking will already be done.  It’s just a real nice thing to have on hand.

I think we’ll find a lot of organic food to choose from come Spring. Plan ahead.  What does your family like to eat?  Make a list! What items would you like for them to start eating? Search for recipes that use those items. Buy extra when items are cheap and either can, freeze or dry them for later.

Get to know your neighbors, plant a garden. If we demand organic food, things will change, slowly…

Signs That We Haven’t Lost America Yet

PJ Media reports…

5 Signs That We Haven’t Lost America Yet

Benghazi, Boston bombings, the Gosnell massacre, the Cleveland kidnappings, the IRS targeting conservatives, DOJ snooping on the AP, war games with Iran and North Korea, civil war in Syria…

Last week my ability to mentally process world events felt like a cell phone when the data is throttled – it was almost too much to wrap my mind around. Some days I fantasize about life as a low-information voter, not caring about anything more important than what some Kardashian is up to. Barring sudden brain malfunction, I’m not likely to experience that kind of apathy any time soon, and the fact that you’re reading PJ Media tells me that you’re likely in the same boat.

Instead of spending the weekend wallowing in all the terrible things happening in the country and around the world, I decided to instead consider many of the positive signs around us that all is not yet lost.  [Continue Reading…]

These people just don’t get it.  They thought out names like Tea Party, Conservative, Christian, 9/12… All they are doing is trying to put us back in our little boxes.  Give a name, stereotype us and continue on  with  business as usual.    Heck I’ll even go out on a limb and say the Republican party is already gone.  They just don’t realize it yet.

I’ll bet if you checked the demographics of those holding the reins at the GOP, they  are all over 70 and their supporters are in their 50’s & 60’s.  Guess what is going to happen to the Republican party if this continues?    It will go the way of the Whig’s.  They would have us believe that Christian’s are all against smoking weed for medicine, and it just isn’t so.

I know we haven’t lost America yet, because of the pioneering spirit that still dwells inside us.  People are preparing as best we can for the inevitable ruination and collapse.  Our economy is going to crash, the powers that be have done everything they can to make it so.  But it’s how well we prepare and stick together that will make the difference in the end.

It’s not about the Tea Party, it’s about freedom.  Either we are a free people or we are slaves. If we are free, then we deserve the right, as free thinking adults, to do whatever we want so long as we aren’t infringing on the rights of others.  Government was necessary to regulate trade between the states.  But government has never been our master and it’s time we put it in it’s place.  Get with the program old guys.  This isn’t the Tea Party you were looking for — it’s the Libertarian Party — the one that trusts people to decide right from wrong.

I just have to mention…

“We are Raising Constitutionally Literate Kids”

I don’t know where you went to school but we learned the constitution in school, the only thing we really didn’t cover was the Federalist Papers.  But I consider school a jumping off point.  Most people look at school as the end of 13 years of education, I look at as the  beginning  of a long road.  We are constantly learning and educating ourselves.

So, enjoy your kids while they’re young.  Work a little, play a lot. They are only little once, and  they have their whole life to learn.

Submit or Resist Sexual Attack?

If the headlines doesn’t scare the hell out of you, I don’t know what will.  But knowledge is power and so, I keep reading, researching, being more and more horrified at every turn.  But today I had to laugh.  The headline read:

Air Force brochure on sexual assault advises victims to submit rather than resist attackers
“The US Air Force – and  the military in general  â€“ has a  massive problem with sexual assault  and they apparently think one of the solutions is telling potential victims to submit rather than resist their attackers.

A sexual assault awareness poster.

Personally, I don’t intend to be mean, but woman have no business being put in a combat position (except for the occasional bull dyke).  Most (not all) females just aren’t made that way.  They don’t have that killer instinct and the drive to protect that is ingrained into a man.  It’s part of who he is. It’s in his DNA.

But wait… these women weren’t raped it combat, they weren’t even overseas…

An Air Force investigation last year also identified 31 female cadets who were allegedly  sexually assaulted by their trainers at a Texas base. Clearly, this is no small problem for the military.

There have been three attempts at raping me.  Only once was I where I should have expected complete safety, my own home.  I was lucky that time. The man was a neighbor I knew, I woke up with him on top of me wearing nothing but a sweater over his head.  I was pinned down.

I struggled until I managed to get one arm free.  Once I got the sweater off, realized who it was.  I just acted crazy, called him everything but a white man (he was black).  He ran out of my house with me chasing him.  I went and had a talk with his sister.  I never did press charges.

The second time, I was out alone on the street at 4:00 a.m. – walking as if I owned the world.  A guy jumped out of a car, ran up behind me and put his arm around my throat.  Thinking quickly, I reached into my back pocket, pulled out my knife, flipped it open and stuck it to his neck.  I said, “MF if you don’t let go of me right now, I’m going to cut your throat wide open.”

He let me go, I ran the two blocks to the police station.  The cops picked him up 15-minutes later.  I didn’t even have to testify.  The guy was out on parole from prison for rape.  They sent him back on a  parole  violation.

The last thing I would ever advise anyone to do is cooperate.  Act mean, fight back, be  vicious, bite, kick, knee him in the gonads, whatever it takes, until you get free.  If I’m ever raped the man will have  scars to show, because I’ll make sure I inflict as much pain on him as he inflicts on me.

Always fight back!  Learn to use a gun.  Carry a knife, mace, a taser… anything but be sure to be comfortable with it.  I was able to get to my knife so quickly because I had practiced getting it opening in a hurry.  I oiled it, cleaned, and I sharpened it almost every day.  I even slept with it and I’ll tell you the truth:

http://youtu.be/BDKCHYVHsOw

The night before the attempted rape in my apartment I had heard noises outside my window.  He’s lucky he didn’t break in that night, because I slept with my knife OPEN under my pillow that night.  The good Lord was watching out for him.
